Varca Beach Goa - Travelogue by Rogen Joseph
I exit from Margao Railway Station. Insted of waiting for bus outside i walk for nearly 1 km up to an overbridge. I catch a bus to Kadamba Bus Stand Madgaon. I catch a bus to Mobor and halt at Varca.
Our Lady of Gloria Church is one of the oldest church in Varca. It was established in 1700 AD.
On the opposite side of church there is a left diversion. Two km journey through this road will take you to Varca beach.
Since bus not ply up to beach and i haven't hire any motor byke i decided to reach the destination by walk. First one km in the journey presents me green vegetation of goan soil while rest one km passes in front of goan houses. You can see homes created with ancient portugese architechure to present goan style.
When i reach closer to beach Palm trees welcomes me.
Varca is one of the major tourist attracted beach in South Goa. Some private resorts including one by Club Mahindra housed near Varca beach.
I enjoy walking few hours through this drive-in-beach. During my past four Goa trips beaches are fully crowded but this time almost empty becuase of off-season.
